Diagnostic insulation testing today represents over a hundred years of constant development. When Sydney Evershed pioneered the first insulation tests in the late 19th century, the only measurable values were insulation at 500 volts and a basic continuity check. However, measurement techniques have continuously evolved to keep pace with new insulation technologies. From electronic design and household wiring to generators and power transmission systems, all different kinds of insulation must operate at a safe minimum value.

BM5200 - INSULATION RESISTANCE TESTER

  • 1 T Ω, 1.4 mA, 5 kV digital insulation tester with digital and analogue display

Megger BM5200 is a battery powered insulation tester with digital and analogue arc display, designed for high voltage insulation resistance testing in the maintenance and servicing of cables, rotating plant machinery, transformers, switchgear and industrial applications.

DC insulation tests are performed at 250 V, 500 V, 1000 V, 2500 V, 5000 V. Insulation resistance measuring range is 100 k Ω to 1000 G Ω. Automatic discharge for capacitive circuits under test is provided and decaying voltage displayed.

The guard terminal can be used to minimize the effects of surface leakage and hence erroneous measurements when carrying out insulation resistance tests.

MIT1025 - 10 KV DIAGNOSTIC INSULATION RESISTANCE TESTER

Offering CAT IV, the MIT1025 is compact, light 10 kV insulation resistance tester for the diagnostic testing and maintenance of high voltage electrical equipment. Enclosed in a tough case it is both smaller and lighter than its predecessor making it even easier to carry and store.

As well as measuring insulation resitance to 20 TΩ, the MIT1025 also offers various diagnostic tests such as Polarisation index, Dielectric Absorption Ratio, Step Voltage, Dielectric discharge and ramp testing.

Now equipped with lithium ion fast rechargeable batteries, the instrument has a large, clear, easy to read, display making it equally suitable for use in both bright sunlight and poorly lit environments. Information displayed includes resistance, voltage, leakage current, capacitance, battery status and time constant. In addition, the elapsed time of the test is displayed constantly removing the need for separate timer.

Offering CAT IV safety, the MIT1525 is compact, light 15 kV insulation resistance tester for the diagnostic testing and maintenance of high voltage electrical equipment. It benefits from the Megger dual case construction, Tough on the outside and fire retardant on the inside.

As well as measuring insulation resistance to 30 TΩ, the MIT1525 also offers various diagnostic tests such as Polarisation index, Dielectric Absorption Ratio, Step Voltage, Dielectric discharge and ramp testing.

The MIT2500 insulation and continuity tester has been designed for motor and cable testing, specialist applications and electrical testing applications, where operation voltages exceed 1000 V and higher insulation test voltages are needed.

The MIT2500 offers both fixed range voltages of 50 V, 100V, 250 V, 500 V, 1000 V and 2500 V, as well as a variable range that allows any voltage between 50 V and 2500 V to be “dialled in”. This is supported by the new test voltage feedback control, which maintains the output test voltage to within 2% of the selected range, even when under test.

Job and Device Productivity Reports track the time spent testing, which aids in bidding future jobs as well as personnel evaluation.

Test Forms
Designed from a ground up approach, PowerDB utilizes over 160 industry standard test forms that have been developed and used over 20 years by industry specialists. Test data entry screens and printed forms are identical allowing intuitive operation. What you see on the screen is what is printed in the reports. Entire test documentation packages consisting of test reports, comment & deficiency summaries, table of contents and field service reports are created with a single step. Once created, reports can be delivered electronically via email, CD-ROM, web server or Adobe® Acrobat®.
